INDIO MAIZ BASECAMP (3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS)


Camp in the midst of the jungle! (B/L/D)

 

Day 1: La Fortuna - Indio Maiz

Starting from La Fortuna your adventure begins with a ride of approximately 2 hours through the rural areas of Costa Rica until you get to the border with Nicaragua. After crossing the border you take a short drive to the San Juan river, from here you go on by boat until you reach El Castillo. From El Castilllo you continue for another 2 hours to reach your exciting destination; a tent camp in the midst of the jungle! In the evening you pass through the wilderness by canoe and come into contact with nature. 

 

Day 2: Indio Maiz

Start your day the right way, with a good workout, you go on a jungle hike to reach a waterfall where you can take a swim. In the afternoon you explore the rainforest by horseback. 

Yet another activity included in your itinerary is the chocolate tour. One of the common trees in the area are the cacao trees (theobroma cacao), whose scientific name means ¨food of the gods¨, experience at first hand how they prepare and process this fruit into the delicious chocolate. 

  

Day 3: Indio Maiz - La Fortuna

After being absorbed in the jungle for a couple of days you now return to ¨civilization¨. First a boat brings you back to El Castillo and after that you return to the border with Costa Rica. Close to the border you enjoy your lunch before you head back to your hotel in La Fortuna.

WHEN: Every day  (3-days)

WHERE: Pick-up at your hotel in La Fortuna at

approximately 07:30 AM.

NOTE: Departure guaranteed with a minimum of two people (adults).

REQUIREMENT: Valid passport and flight information. 

WHAT TO BRING: Cash (dollars and cordobas are accepted).

DURATION: La Fortuna - Basecamp and viceversa (9 hours).
